    Recreation

Another stressful week of starting a new project. After creating the Maven build of the JavaFX project, many things went wrong. My task was creating an executable, or at the very least a JAR file, so that the user could just double-click on a desktop application and not have to use an IDE in order to run the application. I went through Intellij and created an artifact to create an output file, a manifest file, and a JAR file so that the JAR, and later on an executable, could be created. That is when things started to go awry.

    More Issues

This past week has been very busy, though not as busy because of Labor Day which was much needed. We have finally decided to use JavaFX instead of Visual Studio to create a local app for Professor Yorgey. I have not used JavaFX since my freshman year which was over four years ago. This means I had to redownload everything and learn this program basically from nothing. Installation of JavaFX and deciding which IDE to use has been frustrating.

    Back To Business

It has been a fun and productive summer in the year of 2022. I interned at Northrop Grumman and worked on a couple of projects and furthered my programming and teamwork skills that I am ready to bring to Disco Tray Studios. We have a few new team members that I am excited to work with and get things done this year for some of our partners.

Final Changes to HDX Assessment and onto Different Responsibilities

This week was a tough week with little progress. I had forgotten to update my development branch with the new updates that came in from the main development branch. This meant a lot of merge conflicts with the branch that I was working on for the addition and changes to the hamburger menu as well as the format style changes to the survey tables as well as the admin links. There were a lot of parts that I had to redo since the code from development changed so I could not include the changes directly. The merge comparator that Visual Studio utilizes was not very helpful as I could not edit individual lines in the windows that it provided for me, so I decided to accept all of the changes from the development branch. Thankfully, the CSS changes that I had made that were applied to all of the surveys did not have any conflicts so that was saved.
